Faisel Hussein serves as Trustee for Emory University’s Muslim Service Award (“EMSA”) which is focused on the Islamic ideals of education, community service and contribution to society.  Since initial inception in 1999 (formerly known as the Haider Shamsi Award for Islamic Studies), EMSA has grown in size and scope.  Today, participation is available to all undergraduate and graduate students at Emory.

Mr. Hussein is a Managing Director and Co-Head North America Corporate M&A at Alvarez and Marsal.  From 2010 to 2018, Mr. Hussein was a co-founder and Principal at Public Infrastructure Partners where he advised several of the world’s largest publicly-owned utilities on M&A, restructuring, reorganization, and strategic matters including Hydro One Ltd. (Toronto, Canada), and the Department of Water and Power (Los Angeles, CA).  Mr. Hussein had also served as Chief Financial Officer for Candente Copper Corp. (TSX: DNT).

From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Hussein was an investment banker with RBC Capital Markets where he co-founded the Los Angeles offices, expanded the firm’s global footprint, and executed eight cross-border M&A transactions.  Prior to 2006, Mr. Hussein advised the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Privatisation regarding Karachi Electric Supply Corp.  Mr. Hussein began his career as an investment banker in the NYC offices of Salomon Brothers.

Mr. Hussein is a Toigo Foundation Fellow and recipient of the Mortar Board National Honors. Mr. Hussein has been a guest lecturer at Tshinghua University, Beijing.  He received his MBA from NYU with Stern Alumni Scholar distinction and BBA from Emory University with Dean’s List Honors.
