Tell us a bit about you!
I hail from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and I’m currently living in New York. I work at Houlihan Lokey, a middle market investment bank, where I work with private equity firms on leveraged buyouts and growth equity investments.
How have you been involved with Muppies?
I served on the Executive Team as the Director of Operations from 2016 – 2018 and am now active with the Muppies NYC community.
My main motivation to join the Executive Team was to give back to the Muppies community. The organization has done a tremendous job in bringing together very accomplished individuals and providing useful programming and content to support professional growth. All of this was built on the generous support of hundreds of volunteers over the years, which inspired me to get engaged and help the organization continue empower the underserved Muslim professional community.
How would you be able to help our Muppies Network going forwards?
Given my focus on M&A, the most direct way I can add value is to (a) provide perspectives on industries/sectors/complex situations (carve-outs etc.) and think about deal considerations (on a confidential, no-names basis) and (b) make introductions and connect people in my network to help with deal sourcing and execution.
I can also be helpful to folks interested in learning more about working in M&A and evaluating career progression.
Can you share a random fact about you?
I lived in Amsterdam for a period of my life, where I developed a fascination with bikes, which, in my opinion, are highly underrated as a mode of transportation in urban environments. My DIY project was to take apart and refurbish a lightweight road bike that I recently acquired (custom paint job, brakes, seats etc.) so if any Muppies member out there has any tips or advice, please reach out!
