For the organization’s first decade, Muppies has relied on the generous support of hundreds of volunteers and funded its operations through voluntary fundraising campaigns and donations from select sponsors. Since then, Muppies has grown to over 3,000 members in 33+ countries, representing 800+ organizations, and a global community of diverse leaders. Muppies is now entering an exciting period of growth.
In the next phase of our evolution, Muppies will be focusing on building upon our success – and membership dues contribute to a sustainable source of funds, which will be used to:
Develop Muppies’s internship, professional career development, and mentorship programs.
Sustain the organization’s long-term vision by building paid staff and bolstering our technology infrastructure.
Establish and support new city committees around the world.
While there are membership dues, Muppies’s dues are priced lower compared to other professional organizations because we continue to rely on the generous support of volunteers and sponsors to operate. Thank you for your generous support!
Benefits of being a paid member include:
If you are currently experiencing financial hardship and are unable to pay your dues, please email membership@muppies.org; describe your situation and explain how you can contribute to Muppies, and we will promptly consider your case.
You may be able to deduct membership dues ($50 USD/year) as professional dues when filing your U.S. tax returns. Donations made beyond $50 USD/year are deductible as charitable contributions. We advise you to consult with your accountant for your specific tax situation.
Yes – members will receive a tax-deductible receipt once the dues payment has been processed.
All members are required to pay membership dues, regardless of one’s proximity to a local Muppies.
Muppies is a global organization boasting a listserv with over 3,000 members. Member interactions take place on our exclusive online membership platform. This platform not only facilitates connections across the Muppies community but also provides access to city/region-specific groups, a job board, housing board, and more. Even if there is no local Muppies presence in your city, you can continue to engage with the broader Muppies community through our membership platform.
Individuals who have not paid their membership dues can still browse the public Muppies website for general information on events and other activities. However, they will lose access to the membership platform. Furthermore, those who have not paid membership dues won’t be able to attend Muppies’s exclusive networking events or participate in various career and leadership development programs.
In the event of a lapsed membership, individuals may need to reapply for membership to rejoin Muppies.
